At Glasshouses School we really value extra curricular activites that enrich the curriculum and engage the children. We have used the DfE Activity Passports as a basis for our University curriculum. The activities are endorsed by The Scouts, Girlguiding and The National Trust as well as the charity Action for Children.
The idea behind the passports is to enable every child to enjoy new and varied experiences, no matter what their background. The key skills that the activities promote are:
*Drive and tenacity
*Sticking at the task in hand
*Understanding how to work towards a long term goal, when reward might be a long way in the future
*Resilience, being able to pick yourself up and bounce back from life’s challenges.
We provide enrichment activites to broaden experiences, develop skills for life such as confidence and building self-estemm and above all else, having fun.
