Sunflowers Day Nursery – New Starter 2020 Transition Visits
Mrs Cryer (Teaching Assistant, Class 1) makes weekly visits to Sunflowers Day Nursery, spending time with the children who will be starting school at Glasshouses next September. They engage in lots of different activities, look at books together and even do some counting and colour recognition. This is a really good opportunity for the children to build relationships with us in order to make the transition from nursery to school seamless.
Most of our children attend our local secondary school, Nidderdale High. Our schools work closely together to ensure a seamless learning journey from Primary to Secondary School. North Yorkshire County Council provide a bus service from the top of Glasshouses and the surrounding villages to the secondary school every day. Should you require a Church of England Secondary School, our closest is St Aidan’s.
Nidderdale Primary Schools
Our school has close links with Federation of St.Cuthbert’s and Fountains, Dacre Braithwaite CE Primary and the Federation of Darley and Summerbridge. The schools share good practice in order to get the best possible education for children in Nidderdale.
HARTS Teaching Alliance
We are part of the HARTS Alliance which provides our school the opportunity to network with a large number of primary school and take part in research projects including Joint practice development. This CPD allows best practice to be shared amongst schools.
